Caidera: AI agent platform for compliant marketing in regulated industries

What drove the decision to develop an AI-based use case?

Max Sieg, one of Caidera's founders, comes from a family of doctors and has worked in healthcare for years. He repeatedly saw how a broken system slows down innovative treatments. Not because of lacking science, but because of endless compliance processes. Consulting projects with DAX 40 companies and mid sized medtech firms made it clear: Marketing teams spend months pushing a single campaign through regulatory loops instead of helping patients. This frustrated him. When he met Daniel Fernau, who develops AI systems, both knew immediately: We can change this. Their drive is simple: Important health information should reach doctors and patients when needed, not months too late. The vision: make high quality, legally compliant communication accessible to everyone.

What were your expectations or requirements for the AI application?

For the founders, one thing was clear from the start: Without absolute transparency, nothing works. Every statement must be traceable, every source documented. In healthcare, these standards protect patients from misleading communication, violations cost millions. But the team wanted more than just a review tool. The AI should actively think along, be creative, while respecting all regulatory requirements. The vision was an end to end solution: From the first idea to the finished, compliance ready campaign. The platform works on two levels. Strategically, it understands products, audiences, and positioning. Operationally, it generates concrete content for all channels: newsletters, whitepapers, social media. Most importantly: Marketing teams should  finally be able to work creatively again instead of getting stuck in documentation loops.

Which partners and technologies did you rely on during development?

The Science & Startup Program of Berlin universities (Charité, FU, TU, HU) supported them from day one, as did the Berlin Startup Stipendium. This academic foundation was invaluable. Technologically, Caidera uses modern AI agent architectures that can understand and process both regulatory requirements and scientific sources.

The use of AI solutions must also be accompanied by a change in competences. How did you handle the skill shift within the team?

The two founders complement each other perfectly: Max Sieg brings healthcare know how, Daniel Fernau the AI expertise. They live this combination in team building too. They seek people who understand both, technical brilliance and regulated industries. But here's the beautiful part: The team doesn't replace jobs, it gives them back. Marketing teams were hired for creativity, not compliance documentation. The AI handles the time consuming regulatory work so people can finally do what they're passionate about: develop impactful campaigns. For clients, Caidera is marketing experts on demand with built in compliance know how. This is augmentation at its best. The skills remain, the frustration disappears.

In what timeframe did they implement the AI solution in your company/your client‘s company?

Caidera started in 2024 and achieved market readiness within one year. This went quickly because the team solves a real problem. Clients like Bauerfeind are already on board. During implementation, the team ensures clients can get started quickly, usually within a few weeks. The best part: First campaigns are created in hours instead of months. That's the moment when clients understand what's possible.

A conclusion to your AI solution:

Caidera shows that AI and strict regulation don't exclude each other, they can reinforce each other. The team isn't just about time savings, but real access: High quality, legally compliant communication shouldn't be reserved for large corporations only. The 300,000 euro pre seed funding and clients like Bauerfeind or Cepheid confirm they're on the right path. What moves Max Sieg most personally: The team helps life changing treatments reach people who need them faster. That makes every day worthwhile. Healthcare is the start, but the problem exists everywhere: financial services, energy, food. Wherever communication is regulated, Caidera can help. The market is huge, but in the end it's about people, not billions.

One final piece of advice/tip to other entrepreneurs looking to apply AI:

Max Sieg's most important advice: Solve real problems, not invented ones. AI needs context, not just data. At Caidera, strategies, market data, content, and regulations come together. That makes the difference. And especially in regulated industries: Transparency isn't a feature, it's the foundation. People need to understand how your AI thinks. No trust, no acceptance. No acceptance, no success. Stay human, even when working with machines.
